Let's Enjoy South Indian Filter Coffee!

Chai is popular after-meal drink when eating Indian food.
On the other hand, India is one of the world's leading coffee producing countries.

 Ambika's new product "South Indian Filter Coffee" is for Traditional South Indian Coffee. A blend of Arabica and Robusta beans with Chicory. This is also know as Madras Filter Coffee. You can enjoy the great combination of South Indian aromatic coffee and infusing frothed milk. (Flavor notes: Cocoa nibs, Roasted Almond, Toffee)

Madras Coffee

Ambika's South Indian Filter Coffee -Premium Blend- is supervised by "Blue Tokai Coffee", India’s largest and fastest-growing specialty coffee brand.
This medium fine grind and aromatic coffee pairs very well with milk!

You can try both Basic recipe and Authentic recipe!

COFFEE

Basic Recipe (for 1 cup, for both South Indian coffee filter and pour-over)
-Medium fine grind coffee 18g
-Hot water 100ml (93-95℃)
-Hot milk 35ml (or 30ml hot water)
-Sugar 1 teaspoon
1. Pour 100ml hot water on the grinds and brew strong coffee
2. Add 35ml milk or 30ml hot water
3. Add sugar to your liking

Authentic Recipe (for 2 cups, for South Indian coffee filter only)
-Medium fine grind coffee 18g
-Hot water 100ml (93-95℃)
-Hot milk 100ml-200ml
-Sugar as much as you like
1. Add 18g coffee to the upper chamber of filter
2. Attach the upper chamber to the lower one. Use the tamp to compress the coffee slightly
3. Pour 100ml hot water into the upper chamber slowly
4. Place the lid and leave the coffee to sit for 10-15 minutes
5. While waiting for the coffee extraction, prepare hot milk
6. Pour 50ml coffee decoction and add sugar to your liking into tumbler
7. Pour hot milk as much as you like into the tumbler 
8. Pour the mixture back and forth between the saucer (dabarah) and tumbler at least 3-4 times.
The goal of this step is to aerate the coffee and produce a thick, creamy texture. 

South Indian Coffee Making

Indian coffee perfectly goes with Indian Sweets (Mithai) such as Gulab Jamun and Ladoo.
And of course, it goes amazingly well with South Indian meals and Tiffin (Dosa, Idli etc.) as after-meal drink!!!
