The legend behind Holi is that it commemorates the victory of Lord Vishnu over an evil demon named Holika by burning her alive in a bonfire. This symbolizes the victory of good over evil and serves as a reminder to be kind, compassionate and generous towards others. Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India, with people coming together to sing & dance, revelers cover each other in colored powder "gulal" and water to celebrate . Usually everyone is dressed in white and cover each other in "gulal" and water, people seek blessings from elders by putting colors on their feet.
