How to cook Basmati Rice like a Professional.

There are two methods to cook rice like a professional, one is with the help of an electric cooker and the other method is the traditional method using a Saucepan/Pot

Electric Rice Cooker Method

Cooking rice in an electric cooker is a very easy process. All you need to do is put the rice and water in the pot, plug it in, set the timer and wait for the beep.

The first step is to measure out the required amount of rice and water. For every cup of uncooked rice, you will need two cups of water. You should not fill up more than 2/3rds of the pot with water as it will overflow when cooking. Now add all ingredients into your cooker and stir them together with a wooden spoon or spatula until they are well combined. Once everything has been mixed together, cover your electric cooker for about 10 minutes or until you hear a beep from your cooker indicating that cooking time has elapsed.
That's all, just let it rest for a while and serve it hot. 

Traditional Method to Cook Rice

1.Pour the throughly washed rice into a saucepan and add 4 cups of water, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of oil or butter (optional). Turn the heat on high until it reaches boiling point. Allow it to boil for five minutes without stopping.
2. Once the liquid starts to boil, reduce the heat to its lowest setting, cover with a lid and simmer for 15 minutes until done or continue cooking for another five minutes if you need more time or until it becomes soft enough as per you liking.
3. Once the rice is cooked, serve it hot with your favorite curry!
