パラパラとした軽い食感が特徴的な長粒種のお米はタイ料理にはもちろんインド料理とも相性抜群。スープカレーにひたしたり、汁気の多いおかずをのっけても美味しくお召し上がりいただけます。
パラっとして食感が軽いのでクリームやバターでボリュームのあるカレーとあわせるともたれずさっぱりと食べられます。またインドの炊き込みご飯とも言えるプラーオ、そしてピラフや炒飯、リゾットなどにもおすすめです。
インドの方はこのタイライスをあらびきにして、ウラッドダルと一緒に発酵させ「イドゥリ」等の蒸しパンを作るために利用される方が多くいらっしゃいます。
【ワンポイント】 タイ米は細長い粒が折れやすいのでゴシゴシと研がないようにしましょう。たっぷりの水の中でまわすようにサッと洗いましょう。数分水に浸けておき（浸けすぎないでください）、普通の日本米の水加減で炊飯器で炊けます。良く蒸らすのがポイントです。
